The unchanging question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is still haunting me to this day. I am still asking myself that very question. The truth is that my answer has changed often because I like to do it all. I am a curious creature with a creative brain, so my hunger for knowledge is insatiable. What I have noticed is that everyone usually answers with a job “a doctor, a teacher, a veterinarian, an astronaut…” but I have found myself lately answering differently.
“What do I want to be when I grow up?” Well I want to be a traveler, a creative, an entrepreneur, a great partner to my hubby, and above everything else I want to be an awesome mom. I want to travel way more and introduce my family to many different places, peoples, and cultures. I want to be more involved with people, history, and art across the world. I want to continue gaining the knowledge I need in order to help those around me and the world that we live in today. I want to show those around me that giving meaning and value to our lives comes from our experiences and the people we spend our days with, not the 8-5 grind or the things we own. I want to spark the flame for others to want to grow, explore more, be more creative, and define their worth in a different way.
I want to be happy with both my home life and my work life! Home is already amazing, but we can definitely travel more and keep growing. I bloomed and learned a ton in my previous jobs and I am who I am today thanks to all the knowledge and experiences I gained. I am forever grateful to all my previous employers and amazing people I worked with for teaching me and pushing me to become stronger. But still I am not satisfied, as I am always looking to do and grow more. So having a job title that just pays the bills is definitely not what I want to be when I grow up.
I am still under construction. This new chapter of my life looks a lot crazier to people witnessing the changes, and I am ok with that. It means that I am doing something right. It means that I am stepping out of my comfort zone (and theirs) to make my dreams a reality.
So here I am, still under construction on purpose because there is always room to learn and grow. Join me in my journey and let’s be online friends and grow together.
